Limerick Volunteer Centre in association with Hospital and Croom Family Resource Centres are inviting Co. Limerick volunteers to a Celebration of Volunteering Event taking place on Thursday 1st December 2011 from 10am – 12pm in the Woodlands Hotel, Adare. Come along and listen to volunteers speaking regarding their work in the areas of youth, rural development, disability and community. Ballyhoura Development are offering Social Media for Community and Voluntary groups to community groups in the Ballyhoura area on Saturday 11th of February 2012 in Hospital FRC from 10am to 4pm. The cost of the course is €30 per person. Places are limited. If you are interested contact Eileen O’Keeffe at eokeeffe@ballyhoura.org for a registration form.
This course is designed for Community groups who want to utilize social media to promote the work of their group.
Participants will
- Understand how to set up and manage media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkIN and blogs
- Discuss the future implication of cloud computing
- Identify how to use Social Media tools to drive traffic to a website.
- Discuss how to integrate Social Media into the organizations marketing and communication strategy.

Men’s Recreational Soccer Sessions will run on the Astroturf in Kilmallock Soccer Club starting in November for five weeks. Sessions will be facilitated by the FAI Development Officer. Jobs Skills training includes:

Computer Training includes:
• Setting up your own personal e-mail address.
• Learning how to send and receive an e-mail.
• Complete an on-line transaction.
• Introduction to digital photography.
• Social Media.
• Government Services on-line.
The course will run over the course of 5 days and will commence on November 24th in Bruree.
